Navy Veteran Visor Cap Eagle

Here we have a Navy Veteran Visor Cap Eagle. It is constructed out of a two piece die stamped cupal/aluminum base that has been gold gilded, with a separately soldered on Iron cross that is constructed out of a die struck nickel silver base that has been silver washed and contains black enamel work. The obverse depicts a Veteran eagle, clutching a wreathed swastika within its talons in front of two crossed broad swords, an anchor and an Iron cross on its chest. The reverse shows a hollow back with its prongs. I broke them off by accident and glued it back on, which is now shown in the pictures. You would never know but I always try to have full disclosure. It is also "Ges. Gesch." marked. It measures 2 1/2 inches wide by 1 3/8 inches tall. Great detail, enamel and gold gilding! A rare Cap Eagle!
