Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

A rare find! The rectangle buckle is constructed out of a die struck steel base that has been black painted. The obverse roundel depicts the Imperial king’s crown on a smooth round background. The crown is above an eight piece laurel leaf wreath that is tied together at the bottom and is below: “Providentiae Memor”. The wreath and motto are in front of a decorative line type pattern which is encircled by two twisted ropes. The roundel lies on a smooth rectangular backing. The steel prongs and soldered on catch remain in great condition. The interior is maker marked “G. H. Osang Dresden”. Attached to the prongs is a brown leather tab which has been folded over and stitched in place. It is maker marked twice reading “Bruno Thomass Dresden 1917”. The buckle shows minor oxidization age wear throughout. It continues to retain good detail. It measures approximately 2 1/2 inch wide by 2 inches high. A rare one that’s for sure!
