Here we have a combat worn example of a M40 style single decal Luftwaffe Helmet. The shell is constructed out of a stamped piece of steel sheet metal that has been textured pained. The shell has a folded over edge, embossed air vents and three split rivets. The prongs on the rivets are all marked “IKA 42”. The interior has a dome stamp to the very top. It also has a steel liner with two square rings. The light brown leather sized and personalized reading “Rae”. The draw string remains intact. The exterior continues to retain 98%+ of its original paint! The single white and black Luftwaffe decal is beautiful! 85%+ intact! The chinstrap is missing the very end of the tip, but that’s it. The helmet is serial marked “1234” to the back and is also maker marked and sized (I believe) “ET64” (Eisenhuttenwerk, Thale). An excellent piece!
