US Civil War Model Cavalry Officers Sword

The Model 1840 Cavalry Officer's Sword. The 32 inch long, single fuller blade looks decent. It is an unmarked example. Research shows that these unmarked examples are European manufactured and sold to the US to supplement domestic production. It has a perfect tip. The blade rates Exc++ with some age but overall very clean. The brass based hand guard looks great with a nicely displayed floral scroll motif that has hand enhanced detail. It is nicely patinaed and only shows typical age wear. The top of the pommel shows the end of the tang. The sharkskin wood based grip is wrapped in twisted wire wrap. The undented anodized scabbard features two bands secured with untured screws. The drag is matching brass.
