2nd Class Iron Cross Stickpin

Beautiful enamel work on this one! The 2nd Class Iron Cross was awarded for an act of bravery in the face of the enemy, or actions that were clearly above and beyond the call of duty. It is constructed out of a die struck nickel-silver base that has been silver washed and contains black enamel work. The obverse features; a pattée style cross that have a centrally placed mobile swastika and "1939" to the lower arm, which is on a black enamel base and surrounded by a flat outlying border. The full back reverse has a soldered on round plate knurled stickpin. The face measures approximately 5/8 of an inch wide and tall. Nice enamel!
