Check this rare one! A non-combatant example dated 1924! It is constructed out of a die struck tombak base that has been silver washed and contains black enamel and black paint work, under a lacquered finish. The round shaped obverse features a silvered M16 style helmet that is marked in black “Der Stahlhelm” in gothic script, above two silvered crossed oak leaves and “1921”. Note there is no Iron Cross on the helmet. This all lies on a black base which is surrounded by a thin silvered border. The reverse is marked (embossed) “STH” and “Ges. Gesch.”. It also shows a soldered on round plate faltwire catch, soldered on sheet metal hinge and flat wire pin. The enamel work is in beautiful condition 99%+! It measures approximately 1 3/16 inches in diameter. A rare one!
