This one rates 8 out of 10 on McSaars SA Rarity Rating! The blade on this one looks excellent. The acid etched "Alles fur Deutschland" motto and "Rich. Balke & Sohne Solingen B. R .& S. S." maker mark are both beautifully executed! The blade has a perfect tip and perfect fit! Nice crossgrain remains as well! The blade rates an easy Exc++. There is some minor age and surface scratches throughout. The steel based, brown anodized scabbard body is beautiful! It shows a spot of ixidation sentrally to the obverse yet 30% of the original factory lacquer remains intact and it remains completely dent free! The fittings are solid nickel. The ball has a bruise but retains it's basic shape. All screws continue to remain intact. The scabbard/crossguard fit is perfect! The solid nickel crossguards are perfect! The lower-reverse crossguard is marked "Wf" (Westfallen). The crossguard/grip fits are perfect! The redwood grip has a couple wee flakes to the lower reverse and a minute hairline above the roundel. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed and fits perfectly into the grip! The roundel is perfect. Nice example of a rarer maker.
