A quality piece here! It is constructed out of a die struck nickel-silver base and contains black enamel and black paint work, under a lacquered finish. The round shaped obverse features a silvered M16 style helmet that is marked, in black, with an Iron Cross and “Der Stahlhelm” in gothic script, above two silvered crossed oak leaves and “1931”. This all lies on a black base which is surrounded by a thin silvered border. The reverse is marked (embossed) “STH” and “Ges. Gesch.”, “A” (recessed), along with (etched) “LV. Sa. Nr. 163” and “18. 3. 31.”. It also shows a soldered on round plate round wire catch, soldered on pad foot sheet metal hinge and coke bottle pin. The enamel work is in beautiful condition 98%+ and the silvering looks excellent! It measures approximately 1 3/16 inches in diameter. A beautiful piece!
