Early SA Dagger by Hugo Rader

Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

A nice looking piece here! The blade on this one looks great! The acid etched "Alles für Deutschland" motto and "Hugo Rader Solingen" maker mark are both beautifully executed! The crossgrain is easily visible all the way from the hilt to the tip. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! This blade rates a solid Exc+/Exc++. It shows some age grey/spotting and the commonly seen surface scratches throughout. The tip is also slightly bent. The steel based, brown anodized scabbard looks good. It shows oxidization spotting throughout along with the slightest pressure mark to the obverse. The solid nickel silver scabbard fittings look great matching the crossguards in color and patina! The ball continues to retain a nice round shape and all four scabbard screws remain tightly intact. The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "Wf" (Westfallen). The brown hardwood grip looks great! It shows the common pressure marks throughout along with a wee flake beginning to the top but no cracks or chips! The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 95%+ of its enamel. A nice one!
