Here we have a DRKB Veterans 2nd Pattern Visor Cockade and Wreath. The oval shaped cockade is constructed out of a die stamped, steel base that has been bronze washed and contains red, white and black enamel work. The wreath is constructed out of a die stamped tombak base that has been gold gilded. They are two separate pieces. The obverse cockade depicts; in black the Kyffhäuser monument on a white field and is above an NSDAP flag (all within an oval) which is surrounded by an acorn and oak leaf wreath that is open to the top and tied together at the bottom. The hollow back continues to retain two prongs! 98%+ of the enamel paint remains intact. Beautiful gold gilt. A great piece!
