Here’s a nice Wehrmacht-Dienstauszeichnung on a parade mount! The Army 4 Year Long Service was awarded for satisfactory completion of 4 years in military service. It is constructed out of a die stamped steel base that has been silver washed. The round shaped obverse depicts a national closed winged Heer eagle, clutching a swastika in its talons, below: “Treue Dienste in der Wehrmacht” (Faithful Service in the Wehrmacht). The reverse depicts a stylized “4” encircled by an oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the top and bottom. To the top of the medal is a soldered loop and ring which fastens the award to the parade mount. The parade mount is steel base and covered with stitching by a folded blue ribbed rayon ribbon and red felt to the back. There is a pinned on silvered steel Heer eagle, clutching a wreathed swastika within its talons just above the award. The silver wash looks great. The tombak prong and catch remain intact. The pin has broken off. One that will still make for a great display!
