A real treat when these rare ones come around! This one rates 10 out of 10 for rarity on McSaars SA rarity rating list! The blade on this one is in good condition but has been cleaned! The acid etched "Alles für Deutschland" motto and maker mark are both crisply executed. The fit remains nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfect point! This blade rates Exc+. It shows spotting throughout. The steel based, brown anodized scabbard looks excellent. Check out the original factory lacquer on this one! 80%+ intact! It shows no oxidization spots and 100% of the anodizing remains!! The solid nickel scabbard fittings look excellent matching the crossguards in color and patina! The ball has taken a hit, all four scabbard screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "No". The tiger striped hardwood grip looks excellent! It only shows the common pressure marks throughout. No cracks, chips or flakes! The eagle is made of silver washed tombac. That's a new one for me but it looks quite right. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 25%+ of its enamel. A rare one missing from most collections!
