A great, personalized and rare SA dagger! The blade on this one has that "been there" look to it. The fit is nice and tight and the tip comes to a perfectly sharp point. The blade has evidence of sharpening , scuffs and water stains. Ernst Grah rates a 9 out of 10 on the rarity scale so perhaps you can forgive the condition! The blade rates Exc. The brown anodized scabbard looks excellent! The scabbard body shows little wear, remains completely dent free and still shows all the anodized finish and evidence of original lacquer! The solid nickel scabbard fittings are in great condition! They show a bit of wear yet remain nice matching the crossguards in color and wear. The ball remains perfectly round and all four screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect as the dagger slides in with a snap! The solid nickel crossguards are in excellent condition. The reverse of the lower crossguard is Gau stamped "Nm". That crossguard is also Jeweller engraved, "Gew. meinem Enkel Karl Friedrich Spitzner, 10.9.35. Paul Born" translated, "to my grandson Karl Friedrich Spitzner". The grip / crossguard fits are excellent! The brown hardwood grip has a nice finish and looks awesome! There are a few bruises and a wee flake to the reverse lower left corner and no cracks or splits. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed. The SA roundel retains 99% of its enamel and has a perfect fit! Guys you rarely find personalized SA's. This is a rare opportunity to own one.
