A beautiful example! The blade on this one is wonderful! The "RZM M7/42 1940" (W.K.C. (Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Co.) Waffenfabrik, Solingen-Wald) maker mark is beautifully executed! This piece shows stunning crossgrain that runs the full length of the blade. Along with a solid fit and a perfect tip, the blade rates an easy NM. It shows the common surface scratches / runner marks and the odd spot but that's it. The original black leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, black enamel painted scabbard is in excellent condition! It shows some surface scratches yet retains 97%+ of its paint coverage and remains completely dent free! The folded over black leather strap is tightly secured to the scabbard by two rivets. The leather is in excellent condition! The fold at the top has cracked. All of the rivets remain intact and the top button continues to work well! The hilt is constructed out of a zinc alloy base that has been nickel-silver plated. The plating remains in excellent condition, being 96%+ intact. The two black checkered, bakelite grip plates are tightly secured to the hilt by two steel rivets. To the center obverse of the grip is a late HJ diamond. The enamel has some cracks yet it remains 97%+ intact! A nice piece that is in wonderful condition!
