The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched "Meine Ehre Heißt Treue" motto and "Klaas Solingen" maker mark are both nicely executed and provide a wonderful contrast to the bright blade! The etching is slightly lightened due to cleaning. The fit and tip are perfect and some crossgrain continues to remain visible. The blade rates Exc+. It has been cleaned and shows evidence of runner marks. The scabbard body is steel based and has been repainted at some point. The solid nickel scabbard fittings look great. They show minor wear but that's it. The ball is perfect and retains its round shape. All four scabbard screws remain intact. The scabbard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The solid nickel crossguards look excellent, matching the scabbard fittings in color and wear. The reverse of the lower fitting is district stamped "I" (Munich) sideways. For those of you who fret about such things, yes, we do see this sometimes, it's fine on Klaas examples and can be seen in Witty's reference.. The black died hardwood grip is in great condition! It is chip and crack-free. It does show common normal wee marks from honest period wear. The nickel eagle is wonderfully detailed. The SS roundel is nice retaining 99.9% of its enamel and also has a perfect fit! Nicely finishing this one is an original Assmann marked vertical hanger and belt loop. Sorry I will not remove it to show you the inside. Just broke too many of these to remove them anymore. Trust me it's original and textbook.
