Wow, this one's nice! The blade on this one is excellent! The dark and crisp acid etched "Alles für Deutschland" motto and "RZM M7/1 1938" (Christianswerk, Solingen) maker mark are both beautifully executed! BTW, for those of you who are anal, like me, about the details, this is the 1st variation RZM mark. The 2nd and later can be seen https://www.lakesidetrader.com/item.php?ID=8449&location=Archives.The crossgrain is beautiful and can be seen the full length of the blade! The tip is perfect as is the fit! The blade rates an easy Exc++/NM. The steel based brown enamel painted scabbard has 98%+ of its original paint still intact! It continues to remain completely dent free with some age spidering! The nickel-silver plated scabbard fittings show minor spotting wear, yet retains 100%+ of its plating. The ball remains round with just a wee pink-prick hit to the bottom. and all four screws remain intact. The scabbard/crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The nickel plated crossguards are in good shape, retaining 60%+ of their plating! The multi-toned brown hardwood grip is in excellent condition with excellent grain! Minor surface scratches/pressure marks but that's it! No cracks, chips or splits. The early solid nickel eagle is wonderfully detailed and sits perfectly in the grip. The SA roundel retains 95%+ of its enamel and also has a perfect fit! Included is a RZM short hanger that is worn. A beautiful example that you will be proud to own!
