50 Year Faithful Service Cross

An excellent example! The 50 Year Faithful Service Cross was awarded to all officials, employees, and laborers at any level of the public service (local, regional or national) who completed 50 years of service. It is constructed out of a die struck nickel-silver base that has been silver washed, gold gilded and contains black enamel work. The obverse features a pebbled pattee style cross that has a gold "50" to the top arm, an oak leaf wreath visible through the corners and a centrally placed black static swastika / "Für Treue Dienste" (For Faithful Service) to the reverse. To the top is a soldered loop and ring which holds approximately 3 1/2 inches of folded blue rayon ribbon and a stitched on well working brass based gilded pin assembly. The award measures approximately 1 5/8 inches wide and tall. The gold gilt wonderfully shines in the light and the enamel work is 99%+! The silvering has nicely patinaed with time.
