A beautiful Militärverwaltung France Badge! This would have been worn by civilian members of the military administration. I have seen several period photographs of women wearing this badge. It is a two piece die stamped/molded nickel-alloy based construction that has been silver washed and contains black, white and red enamel work. The obverse features a German national eagle with out-streached wings clutching a wreathed mobile swastika in its talons above a red, white and black oval The exterior black oval reads: "- Militär - Verwaltung Frankreich" (Military Administration France). The hollow back reverse has a soldered on oval shaped plate that holds a horizontally placed pin, that remains in well working condition. The base is also numbered: "2475". It measures approximately 3 inches wide by 1 ½ inches tall. Beautiful enamel work!
