A great HJ/DAF Trade Competition Tinnie 1935! The Reichsberufswettkampf (National Trade Competition) was an annual vocational competition held in Nazi Germany as part of the Gleichschaltung of German society. It is constructed out of a die stamped tombak base that has been bronze washed. The shield shaped obverse features, from the top to bottom; a hammer that is flanked by a laurel leaf and berry cluster and an oak leaf and acorn cluster, which are in front of a bannered "1935", this is above "HJ" a centrally placed Hitler Youth diamond logo and "DAF". Around the perimeter is the script "Reichs-Berufs-Wellkampf der Deutschen Jungend" (National Trade Challenge of the German Youth). The hollow back reverse has a soldered on round plate that is marked "Ges Gesch" holding a horizontally placed tombak pin assembly. The pin assembly is bent through functions. It is also maker marked "Hoffstatter Bonn". It measures 1 7/8 inches tall by 1 3/16 inches wide. A great piece!
