Seldom do you come across this maker on these police swords! The blade on this one looks good. It has a nice matte finish, with a solid fit and perfect tip! The etched “Siegfried Waffen E. Pack Solingen” maker mark is beautifully executed! The blade rates Exc++. It shows minor age. The steel based, black enamel painted scabbard looks great! It has a wee mark to the lower obverse you can find with your fingers and continues to hold 95% paint coverage! It shows the common age crazing throughout. The steel based nickel plated fittings retain 99% of their plating and nice burnish to the backgrounds. See the stipple patter to the backgrounds of the upper? Cool! Both fittings are tightly secured by two screws each. The steel based nickel plated hilt and d-guard also remain in good condition. They do have some plating loss and patina. The end of the quillion terminates with an elegant drilled knob. The hardwood black grip looks great and is tightly secured with the correct nickel wire wrap, which is also secured to the reverse by a horizontal plate. The tightly secured, copper police eagle is beautifully detailed with an excellent fit! The ferrule remains looking good with nicely detailed leaves and acorns. The pommel nut is quite correct. Overall a great example at a great price!
