A solid personalized piece! The blade on this one looks good. The hand stamped and blackened "RZM M7/10 1940" (J. A. Henckels, Solingen) maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed! It has a solid fit and a perfect tip. The blade rates an Exc+. It has been ever-so-slightly sharpened, shows age spotting/grey and surface scratches throughout. The original black leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based, black enamel painted scabbard is in excellent condition! The reverse has been hand personalized reading: "E. Girk". It retains 97%+ of its paint coverage and it remains completely dent free! The folded over blackened leather strap retains all of its rivets and the snap continues to work well! The leather shows minor crazing yet is in good condition. The interior is also personalized reading "E.G.". The hilt is constructed out of a steel base that has been nickel-silver plated. The plating remains in excellent condition, being 96%+ intact. The two black checkered, bakelite grip plates are tightly secured to the hilt by two aluminum-alloy rivets. To the center obverse of the grip is a beautiful HJ diamond that retains 99%+ of its enamel! A nice piece!
