Here we have an Early NS-RKB Veterans Breast Eagle by Rudolf Karneth. It is constructed out of an injection molded cupal base that has been silver washed, contains black enamel work and has been finished in a lacquer coating. The obverse depicts a vaulted Veterans eagle, clutching a wreathed swastika within its talons, with two crossed broad swords and a centrally placed Iron cross on its chest. The hollow back reverse shows a well working, crimped steel round wire catch, crimped nickel-silver ball hinge and a straight round wire pin. It is also marked “20”, “Ges. Gesch” and “RK” (Rudolf A. Karneth & Sohne, Gablonz a.N.) It measures 3 3/4 inches wide by 1 7/16 inches tall. Nice detail, enamel and silver wash!
