Here’s a great example of an early (1931-32) Italian MVSN 1st Model Leaders Dagger! The quality steel polished blade on this example is wonderful! The blade has a beautiful bright mirror like finish to it! It has a solid fit and perfect tip! The blade rates an easy NM-. It shows the common surface scratches throughout along with the odd blemish but that’s it! There is no maker mark on the blade and they are all this way. The steel based plated painted scabbard looks great. It has two wee pressure marks and minor plating bubbling yet it retains 98%+ plating coverage, has a perfect ball and hold a nice bright finish! The attachment hanger is leather based and covered in a black and yellow cellon/rayon thread. It continues to hold its attachment screw. The scabbard sits perfectly up against the hilt. The hilt is aluminum based retains that correct original matte finish. The eagle head pommel looks awesome and is nicely detailed. The black bakelite grip plates are in excellent condition, with a perfect fit. The nicely detailed and gilded Fascist symbol is perfectly inserted and tightly secured with a screw to the other side. A beautiful piece you need to accompany your Axis edged weapons or Italian collection!
