Here's a good looking early piece! The bright plated blade on this one looks good. The stamped kissing kranes "Robt Klaas Solingen" maker mark is nice. The plating has a bright mirror like finish. The tip comes to a perfect point and the fit is nice and tight. The blade rates an Exc+. It shows plating bubbling and lifting along with the common runner marks and surface scratches throughout. The leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based, nickel-silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced oak leaf and acorn bands! Check out those Klaas asterisks exactly how it should be. It has a large pressure mark to the obverse making a slight bend in the scabbard. The throat retaining screws remains intact. The zinc-alloy based, nickel-silver plated hand enhanced crossguard provides nice detail. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns. The orange, trylon grip on this one is practically perfect! This come comes with a correctly tied, frayed portepee! A fine piece!
