German WWII > Belt Buckles > Luftwaffe >
A nice Luftwaffe EM/NCO Belt Buckle by Hermann Aurich! It is constructed out of a die struck steel base that has been black painted. The obverse features a centrally placed 2nd pattern Luftwaffe open winged eagle clutching a swastika in one of its talons, on top of an oval pebbled background, that is all encircled by a laurel leaf and berry wreath that is tied together at the bottom. All of this lies on a smooth rectangular backing. The reverse is maker marked "HA" (Hermann Aurich, Dresden). The plated steel prongs and soldered on catch remain intact. It shows oxidization spotting and paint loss. It measures approximately 2 1/2 inch wide by 1 7/8 inches high. Nice detail and a nice maker mark!
