Here’s a neat dual maker marked Hitler Youth Belt Buckle by Overhoff & Cie / F. W. Assmann & Söhne. In all likelihood Assmann constructed the buckle and Overhoff purchased it and marked it. It is constructed out of a single piece of die struck nickel-silver that has been silver washed/plated. The obverse roundel depicts a closed winged HJ eagle clutching an HJ diamond within its talons on a pebbled round background. Above the eagle is the Hitler Youth motto reading: “Blut und Ehre” (Blood and Honor). This is then encircled by detailed lines which are enclosed by two twisted ropes and all lies on the smooth rectangular background. The reverse is clearly maker marked “A Ges. Gesch. A & S” along with “Overhoff & Cie”. The plated steel prongs and soldered on catch remain intact. The prongs have oxidized. The patina is quite nice. It measures approximately 2 7/16 inch wide by 1 7/8 inches high. A very neat one!
