Hitler Youth Belt Buckle by RZM M5/276

Here we have a Hitler Youth Belt Buckle by RZM M5/276 (Klein & Quenzer AG., Oberstein a. d. Nahe). It is constructed out of a single piece of die struck steel that has been silver washed. The obverse roundel depicts a closed winged HJ eagle clutching an HJ diamond within its talons on a pebbled round background. Above the eagle is the Hitler Youth motto reading: "Blut und Ehre" (Blood and Honor). This is then encircled by detailed lines which are enclosed by two twisted ropes and all lies on the smooth rectangular background. The reverse is clearly maker marked "RZM M M5/276" (Klein & Quenzer AG., Oberstein a. d. Nahe). The steel prongs and soldered on steel catch remain in great condition! The prongs hinge cover is lost to time. It shows minor silver wash loss throughout. The details to the eagle, motto and roundel are excellent! It measures approximately 2 7/16 inch wide by 1 7/8 inches high. An nice looking piece!
