Here a beauty early solid nickel example with all the leather including the hanger professionally replaced. This is a desirable example with real nice inserted brass roundels with gilt swas's. The scabbard and grip have been releathered. As always, I disclose all restoration work. The plated blade is Exc+ with some age spotting the worse of which is towards the hilt. The reverse is inspection stamped above the correct etched maker marked blade. The blade is seated through a matching pebbled blue leather washer into the solid nickel crossguard. Both the quillions are Jeweller engraved "FL. Sch.", (Flight School) and "Hildesheim", (The word "Hildesheim" on that LW sword refers to a town in Near Hanover in northern Germany. It was the site of a WWII German airbase and a Flight school). The grip is double wrapped with 2 double twist wires. The scabbard is nicely leather wrapped with new Luftwaffe blue Moroccan leather. The scabbard has a replacement hanger that too was made at the restorer. The rings are copper colored, and replacement. The fitting are correctly retained with headless screws.
