A neat piece! It is constructed out of a red silk base with stitched on silk/rayon insignia, silvered print and gold bullion fringe. The rectangular shaped obverse features stitched on white roundel with a black mobile swastika on it below “Die kameraden der” in silvered gothic print and to the other side is an Iron cross below “Fahrkolonne 8” in silvered gothic print. The script reads: “Die kameraden der Fahrkolonne 8” (The comrades of the driving column 8). The edges have re-enforced stitching and the ends have stitched on gold twisted bullion fringe. It shows age fading from red to pink along with minor thread catches to the edge of the insignia. It measures 79+ inches long by 6 ¼ inches wide. A nice display piece!
