Another one to add to your Gau-Tag tinnie collection! It is constructed out of machine embroidered multicolored cotton stitching with a glued on black paper backing surrounded by die stamped steel border and back piece that has been gold gilded. The shield shaped obverse features, in cloth; several coat of arms, on top of a black eagle with closed wings that is flanked by “Gau-Tag 9.-12. 6. 1938” and is above “Süd-Hannover Braunschweig”, which is all surrounded by a thin gold border. The reverse features a crimped on plate that is secured with 3 of the 5 prongs and has a horizontally pinned on well working pin assembly. It measures approximately 1 ½ inches wide by 1 13/16 inches tall. A neat piece!
