Here’s a solid example of a 2nd Model Luftwaffe Dagger with a beautifully colored grip! The blade on this one looks good. The acid etched “F. W. Höller Solingen” maker mark is dark, crisp and beautifully executed! It has a perfect tip and perfect fit. The blade on this one rates Exc+/Exc++. It shows heavy age grey throughout. The blue pebbled leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The steel based nickel-silver plated scabbard looks good. The finish is worn and there is a wee pressure mark towards the tip. It continues to depict great details throughout, with the random pebbling, oak leaves and acorns. The single throat retaining screw remains intact! The aluminum based burnished eagle crossguard has nice detail to the eagles head, feathers, wings and top side embossed oak leaves and acorns. The upside down steel ferrule and aluminum pommel all look great. The pommel has wear groves to the very outer rim top. The early trylon grip has aged to almost a purple orange over time. Very cool! The grip is in near perfect shape! No cracks, chips or splits! The aluminum springy wire wrap remains tightly intact. A nice example all around!
