What a beautiful piece! An excellent blade on this one! With good crossgrain, this beautifully executed Knights head "WKC Solingen" maker marked blade holds a perfect tip and is perfectly seated into the hilt! The blade rates a solid Exc++. The original brown leather buffer pad remains intact. The silver plated, steel based scabbard provides wonderful detail, with the hand enhanced bands, random pebbling throughout and look at that lacquer retained to the sides! The scabbard retains its original single throat retaining screw and oval shaped orifice, a feature only seen on WKC scabbards, and remains completely dent free! The WKC's "tomahawk" style Heer crossguard is sought after among collectors! This one is nice, with beautiful details throughout especially to the eagle's chest, wings and talons. It is silver plated that has nicely patinaed to a blue/black and retains an excellent finish. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with proud oak leaves and acorns to a burnished pebbled background. Another great feature about this piece is the dark orange trylon grip! No cracks, chips or splits! The original portepee remains but it's pretty much beat. Truly a piece to call your own!
