Here's what happens when you slam daggers in and out of there scabbards with too much force! Guys these zinc based crossguards tend to shrink and move somewhat. A careless insertion could just hit the roundel enough to snap it! The blade rates an easy Exc with some age gray. The crossgrain is easily visible and the teeth on the saw back are in great condition. To the reverse of the blade is marked GES. GESCHUTZT. No not always there buy I know some like to see it. The leather washer is in place. The plated nickel hilt fittings look good with some minor lifting. The obverse medallion is snapped off half way. The grip plates are in near perfect condition. The black enamel painted scabbard retains beautiful paint coverage and remains completely dent free! The scabbard fittings show minor wear and look great. All throat retaining screws remain intact. Shoot guys for the price of the scabbard alone you've got a whole dagger! If you can forgive the medallion you've got yourself a bargain.
