Wow here's one for someone looking for something special! The blade is a beauty with full crossgrain. Just a bit of age spotting but that's it! Rates Exc++. The ricasso has been nickel-plated as these always are, and the blade is unmarked (just as it should be). The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The nickel plated hilt fittings are in great shape, having only a bit of plating loss but really not too bad at all. Look at the crossguard roundel, see how the background is slightly burnished! Nice and really highlights that eagle! Best of all the reverse roundel has been Jeweler personalized to a Berlin doctor, "Dr Hans Elzner Berlin". That's enough to start a research project if you are into that. The pommel screw cover has at some point been turned. The dark orange grip is perfect. The scabbard plating coverage is easily 99%. There are no dents or splits. Both throat screws remain intact. This piece rates a solid Exc++. Included is a set of Social Welfare hangers. These came with the dagger and were most likely the ones it was worn with. They feature die struck buckles, back clip and bands are made out of an aluminum based construction. The two front clips are made of zinc and have been silver washed. All three clips function well! It doesn't get much better than this.
