Here we have a Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Grawiso Solingen. The early thin blade on this one looks good. The acid etched "Blut und Ehre!" motto remains visible in the light. The acid etched "Grawiso Solingen", "Ges. Geschützt" are nicely executed! The tip comes to a sharp point and the fit is nice and tight. The blade rates a solid Exc+. It shows heavy spotting, age grey and surface scratches throughout. The original blackened leather buffer pad continues to remain intact. The scabbard is steel based and black enamel painted. The finish is lost to time, it has dents to the edge and has been post-war chemically darkened. The blackened scabbard leather is crazed yet remains in good condition. All of its rivets are intact and the button continues to work well! The button is marked: "S.H.B.". The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 95%+ of its plating. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are in near perfect shape being tightly secured by two solid nickel-silver rivets. The HJ diamond remains in excellent condition and retains 99%+ of its enamel! A fine piece!
