M35 DD Luftwaffe Helmet by Q68

Here we have a Large combat worn example of a M35 style Double Decal Luftwaffe Helmet (Stahlhelm) by Q68. The shell is constructed out of a stamped piece of steel sheet metal that has been blue grey pained. The shell has a folded over edge, separately inserted air vents and three split rivets. The prongs on the rivets are all marked “IKA 40”. The interior has a dome stamp to the very top reading “Abgenommen Wehrmacht-Beschaffungs (Bekleidung u. Ausrüstung) Abnahmestelle Esslingen” (Accepted, Wehrmacht Supply Office (Clothing and Equipment) Delivery Point Esslingen). It also has a steel liner with two square rings. The light brown leather has 8 ½ tabs (typical for larger helmets) and is size marked. The draw string remains intact. The helmet is serial marked “21446” to the back and is also clearly maker marked and sized “Q68” (Quist, Esslingen).The exterior continues to retain 96%+ of its original paint! The white and black Luftwaffe decal is beautiful approximately 95%+ intact! The tri-color shield decal remains approximately 97%+ intact. The chinstrap is missing, but that’s it. A nice and large helmet!
