Well makers doesn't come rarer than this! This one rates 10 out of 10 for rarity! The blade on this one has been plated at some point along with the hilt fittings. When, where, and by who I do not know. The acid etched "Alles für Deutschland" motto is washed out but still visible. The "A M Aug. Malsch Fr. Sohn Steinbach Kr. M" maker mark is still nice and dark. The fit remains nice and tight. This blade rates a solid VG. The steel based, black scabbard looks great! It continues to remain completely dent free and hold a nice brown finish to it. It shows oxidization and spidering throughout. The steel based plated scabbard fittings look great. The ball has a wee bump to the side yet it retains a nice shape. All four screws remain tightly intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked "Th" (Thuringen). The brown hardwood grip is near perfect! Just the odd pressure mark! The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel has a perfect fit and retains 99%+ of its enamel. An excellent rare piece!
