A nice Transitional Model 1933 Hitlerjugend Fahrtenmesser by Wilhelm Halbach of Solingen-Foche. The ricassoed mottoed blade on this one looks great! The acid etched "Blut und Ehre!"motto and rarer maker mark: Christmas tree "Gesetzl. Geschutzt"/ "RZM M7/35" are all nicely executed! The blade rates Exc+. It shows minor pitting, surface scratches and the common age grey throughout. IMO the buffer pad is post war. The steel based black enamel painted scabbard looks excellent! It retains 90%+ paint coverage and remains completely dent free! The folded leather strap is in great condition, only minor crazing throughout. It retains all of its rivets and the snap continues to work very well! The steel based nickel-silver plated hilt retains 98%+ of its plated finish. Typical wear from the snap and reverse rivet. The black bakelite checkered grip plates are in near perfect shape and are secured by two nickel-silver rivets. The HJ diamond retains 95%+ of its enamel! A nice piece by a rare maker!
