Early Gold RAD “Arbeits Dank” Stickpin

Please note this item is no longer available and you were redirected to our Archives.

A desirable and rare find! From June 1935 onward, men aged between 18 and 25 had to serve six months before their military service. The Gold Reichsarbeitsdienst “Arbeits Dank” Pin would be awarded for 12 or more months of service. It is constructed out of a die struck, tombak base badge that has been gold gilded and contains translucent gold, white and black enamel work. The oval shaped obverse features a centrally placed black downward pointing spade shovel with a mobile swastika on its head and two wheat sheaths, one coming out of either side. This all lies on a white background and is surrounded by “Arbeits Dank” (Labor Thanks), in gold, above a translucent pebbled background. The full back reverse is marked “Ges Gesch” and has a soldered on and knurled tombak stick pin. The gilding and enamel work is gorgeous! The head measures approximately 5/8 of an inch wide by 7/8 of an inch tall. Snap this one up quick before someone else does!
