A solid early one right from the Vet's family! The blade on this one looks nice. The acid etched and period painted “Alles für Deutschland” motto and one of 2 variant maker marks looks good! The fits are all perfect as a matter of fact this thing has never been taken apart, cleaned or messed with in anyway. The tip comes to a perfect point! This blade rates an Exc++ with just a few stains the worse being at the obverse near the crossguard. This has never been cleaned and all the crossgrain remains. The steel based, brown anodized scabbard looks excellent! It has a very slight dent to the middle obverse you can find with your fingers but I could not get a good shot of it. The body retains 95%+ of the anodizing and has that copper tinge you can see when you hold this in the sun. Really nice. There is some surface oxidation. The solid nickel scabbard fittings look excellent. The ball retains a nice round shape and all four screws remain intact. The scabbard / crossguard fit is near perfect and closes with a snap! The reverse of the lower crossguard is marked “Sw”. The brown hardwood grip looks good. It is chip and crack-free with just normal wee hits and marks from period wear. The solid nickel eagle retains beautiful details and has a perfect fit. The SA roundel retains 80%+ of its enamel. A solid piece with perfectly matching patina!
