Well I’m a sucker for this early hand worked stuff. The unmarked blade on this one is a bit rough with age stains. The fit is nice.. The blade rates an Exc. The replacement buffer is a red felt, when, where and who put it there is unknown to me. The steel based, nickel silver plated scabbard provides wonderful detail with the random pebbling throughout and hand enhanced brass oak leaf and acorn bands! It is dent-free. The original throat retaining screws remains intact. The brass based, nickel silver plated unique early eagle crossguard provides beautiful details throughout with hand enhanced eagle’s head, wings, wreath, beak and chest. The pommel and ferrule are also beautifully detailed with hand enhancing. The crossguard, scabbard and pommel all match in color, plating and dark patina. The warm orange chip-free trylon grip on this one is excellent! A very decent dagger.
