Nice piece! The plated blade on this one looks excellent! The bright plated finish is nicely executed giving it a mirror like finish! The stamped distributor mark “Horst Wolff G.M.B.H. Leipzig C1” mark is executed slightly off. I believe thee guys exclusively handled Fire accoutrements It has a perfect fit and perfect tip! The blade rates an NM. The original leather buffer pad remains intact. The steel based, black enamel painted scabbard is in excellent condition! It remains completely dent free and retains 99% of its original paint! The nickel plated hilt is in excellent condition, with 99% plating still intact! This piece also has two perfect diamond grip plates that are nicely fit without any damage and are secured by 2 untouched steel rivets. No cracks or chips anywhere. Included is an original frog and portepee. This is exactly as received from the Vet’s family. The soldiers name was Kenton Grey Berkley, he was in the first wave on Omaha Beach in Normandy France, and sadly, he passed away this past February.
