Here we have a Kreigsmarine Gunner-Observer of Automatic Anti-Aircraft Weapons Speciality Trade Badge (Flak-schüze/Flak Beobachter). This would be worn on the upper left sleeve of the uniform. The base color of the insignia was to match the color of the uniform it was worn on. The oval badge is constructed out of a navy blue wool base with red machine embroidered rayon thread and has a protective lacquered painted backing. The obverse features a centrally placed red winged artillery shell with flakes coming out the top on a navy blue backing. It measures approximately 2 13/16 inches wide by 3 5/8 inches tall. A nice one!
