Wow! Now here’s something you don’t see every day. This piece would have been privately purchased and worn by the awardee while in civilian clothing. It is a soldered together three piece construction, made out of die struck zinc-alloy that has been silver washed and black painted. The obverse features a Knights Cross to the left of an Imperial 1st Class Iron Cross this is below a 1st Class Spange and is to the left of an Imperial 2nd Class Iron Cross below a 2nd Class Spange. The full back reverse features a soldered on knurled silvered steel stickpin. Silver wash loss, nice paint remains. The face measures approximately 1 1/8 inches wide by 5/8 of an inch tall. A very cool one!
