It is constructed out of a die struck brass base that has been bronze washed and contains white, blue and red enamel work. The obverse features a white cross with a centrally placed “NLD” below a crown and within the arms it reads: “National Nationaal” the full back reverse is marker marked: “Jos. Sandre Lige”. Black yellow and red ribbon stitched to integral loop. Stitched on safety pin. There can be date bars on these.
