Truly a gorgeous piece| Up for sale here is a Minty Model 1933 SS Dagger (Schutzstaffel Dienstdolch) by SMF (Solinger Metallwarenfabrik Stoecker & Co.) RZM Contract Code "RZM 1198/39 SS" 1939, with an original bag, vertical hanger and belt loop. You couldn't ask for more! The blade is in wonderful condition. The "Meine Ehre heisst Treue" motto and "RZM 1198 / 39 SS" maker mark are crisp and beautifully executed! The crossgrain is stunning and runs the full length of the blade. The tip comes to a perfect point and the blade to crossguard fit is quite nice. The blade rates an easy NM. It shows the slightest age grey, some scratches, the common runner marks and two one tenth of a mm notches to the one edge. With all that said, I'm being anal, the blade is awesome. The steel based, black enamel painted scabbard body is just as nice as the blade! It retains 98%+ paint coverage and remains dent free! The steel based, nickel-silver plated scabbard fittings are bright and look awesome! The ball remains perfectly round and all of the screws remain untouched, intact and unturned! There are two wee hits just below the left screw on the lower fitting. The scabbard / crossguard fit is excellent! The alloy based, plated crossguards look excellent as well. They have the slightest wear to the very edge of the wood as is common on most of these and one wee flake of plating loss to the lower right side guard. The blade, crossguards and grip fits are a bit loose which allows for little strain on the wood. The black hardwood grip is in great condition! It has two hairline cracks and a few minor pressure marks but that's it. The solid nickel eagle is beautifully detailed with a great fit! The SS roundel retains 99%+ of its enamel and also has a perfect fit. The few minor things I mentioned were only me being very anal. This one is over the top! It also comes with an early SS vertical hanger that has a well working "DRGM" marked clip. The leather is marked "SS 48/35 RZM". It shows typical crazing to the stress point yet remains in great condition! Attached to the clip is the black leather D-ring belt loop. All of this comes housed in the rarer zipper style wool dagger bag. It show typical age mothing and soil. A gorgeous one to be cherished!
