Here we have a 1934 pattern ”sew-on’ style Hitler Youth Shoulder Straps (Hitlerjunge Schulterklappen) for Bann “234” (Viersen-Kempen - Ruhr-Niederrhein - West). They are constructed out of two-ply machine embroidered tan cotton twill with machine embroidered red cotton numbers and stitched on red piping (Obberbann 1). The rectangular shaped obverse’s shows an off centered “234” (Bann Number) above a “I” (Roman Unterbann Numeral) in red, and underneath a button hole and it has a pointed tip along with bordered red waffenfarbe piping. They measures approximately 4 1/4 inches long by 1 5/8 inches wide. One is slightly larger than the other. It appears as though they each had two pips in them at some point. Nice!
