Here's a great looking piece at a very fair price. The bright blade on this one is has some age that is worse towards the tip. It has a solid fit and nicely executed maker mark! The blade rates an easy Exc+. The buffer continues to remain intact. The steel based scabbard is covered in a dark blue pebbled leather and remains dent free! The leather has minor scuffs throughout yet remains 95% intact! The top and bottom fitting are steel based and the center is nickel. Some get concerned about such things and in this case it's completely right. These early 1st's models were factory converted 1st model daggers that has the hangers removed and the center fitting added. All five screws continue to remain intact. BTW, look close and you will see the center fitting has a slightly larger screw. Again quite right of often seen in these transitionals. The scabbard snugly fits up against the hilt. The hilt is solid nickel based. The obverse crossguard looks awesome with its unique RLB art-deco eagle! The grip is wood based and is covered with that same dark blue pebbled leather. It remains in excellent condition with 100% leather coverage. The obverse shows the starburst grip emblem and swastika that retains 90% of its black enamel. A great piece for a very fair price!
