Love these pieces truly the epitome of the craft. The polished maker marked blade is an Exc++ example with some age grey and nice crossgraining. The reverse proudly displays a mid-period or 2nd variation crisply etched Alcoso maker mark. The thin blue leather blade buffer is in place. Classic Alcoso fittings are all silver washed and patina is nice and dark. The plating is good and in the reverse of the crossguard you can see the factory lacquer. This thing is perfectly fit together unlike so many that have been taken apart 10 times by every collector most of which do not have the right tools. The elegant mother of pearl grip plates are crack and chip-free. The pommel screw sits perfectly flush to the eagle head unlike so many examples out there with replaced blades that never sit right. The dent-free silver plated scabbard is set off by well detailed bands. Plating is 100%. The throat is retained by two unturned screws. Overall this is a textbook beauty that wonderfully shows off hand fitted German craftsmanship!
