Here we have a set of Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Flight Personnel Collar Tabs (Luftwaffe Oberstleutnant Flugpersonal Kragenspiegel). I love the bullion work on these! It is constructed out of a thick interwoven tan buckram base that is covered in a gold yellow stitched/glued on wool with hand embroidered silver/aluminum flatwire threads and is piped in a stitched on silver/aluminum flatwire twisted rope. The obverse's feature two Luftwaffe gulls surrounded by an oak leaf and acorn wreath that is tied together at the bottom, which lies on a gold yellow backing and is surrounded by a bullion twisted rope. The reverse shows the buckram base, to the center, that is surrounded by the folded over gold yellow wool covering, white stitching and is surrounded by that same silver/aluminum flatwire twisted rope. Minor toning, mothing and calcification. They each measures approximately 3 3/4 inch tall by 1 3/4 inches wide. A great set!
